Oma’s Dolphin Program
Anne Marie Borguss, affectionately known to many as “Oma”, was the matriarch of Dolphins Plus. As one of the founding members of our family friendly marine mammal facility, she greeted every guest with a loving, warm smile and an amazing knack for making people laugh. Unfortunately, in 2009, she lost her courageous 6-year battle with breast cancer. In honor of Oma’s zest for life and in memory of her courageous spirit, Dolphins Plus offers any guest battling cancer a complimentary dolphin encounter free from the stress of doctors, medications, and thoughts of illness.
If you or someone you love is fighting a battle with cancer, we invite you as our guest, to enjoy the Florida sunshine with our dolphin family. Our programs are a unique opportunity to interact with our marine mammal friends in an exhilarating, unforgettable, and intimate experience. While the dolphin encounters are typically in-water experiences, efforts are made to accommodate special needs.
Oma considered the dolphins to be a source of tranquility. She would sit for long periods of time just watching and talking to them from the upstairs office window and they always stopped to interact with her. Include Dolphins Plus Bayside as a serene part of your next vacation escape and enjoy some fun in the sun.
